I guess I jumped on the Divergent bandwagon a little late. I read Divergent several months ago when I first heard it was being made into a movie. Then, I immediately read Insurgent. The ending of that one pissed me off so I waited a while and finally picked up Allegiant and finished it about two weeks ago. I saw the movie around then too. SPOILER ALERT: I'm going to talk about the ending. Don't continue reading if you don't want to know! In my opinion, Divergent wasn't awful, but it wasn't good either. Initially, I loved the idea of the story. Post-apocalyptic, factions, wondering what was beyond the fence... I was fascinated. The first 75% of the first book was great; talking about Tris' initiation and her trying to discover what Divergence really meant. But then the war started and I rolled my eyes. Surprise, surprise but this post is overdue. We went to St. Louis back in the beginning of January. Really, I wrote this post a while ago, I'm just really bad about uploading pictures from my phone to my computer. And who wants a blog post without pictures!? Dan surprised me with a trip to St. Louis for Christmas! Woop woop! He's known I've always wanted to go there and it's on the list. We left after work on Friday. It was a super easy drive. It took about five hours and they're an hour behind us, so we got there by 9:30pm. We ended up with an AWESOME hotel, the Hyatt Regency at the Arch. Seriously people, if you're traveling on short notice, hit up Priceline's express deals.
