The sky is bigger in Texas

(This post is a wee bit delayed. Sorry!)
Maggie, Bonnie and I went to Houston last weekend to watch the Final Four! It was pretty last minute. We decided less than 48 hours before we were planning on leaving. And it was great! Even though UK lost, we made it to the Final Four for the first time in 13 years! And I was there to watch it! And even though we didn't make it to the championship, it was still cool to be there. How many people can say they've been to the NCAA National Championship? We also got to go to the beach, hang out in downtown Houston, go to a free Kenny Chesney concert, and eat goooood food. It was a fun little vacation. But the drive was long. But beautiful. I've decided want to live in Louisiana, it's gorgeous.
At the beginning of the trip, we all expressed that we had this feeling that God was calling us to go on this trip. Let me tell you, I did not want to go. I have no money and could not afford to skip class. But, like, I felt this nudging from God (along with a constant nagging from Maggie). I could tell He really wanted me to go, that He had a reason. And the cool thing is, we all felt like this. He was telling us all the same thing.
By the end of the trip, I was a little disappointed that we didn't help a homeless person or convert the multitudes. But it was such a needed break from the constant stress and worry of college and classes. It was almost like God was telling me "Hey, take a step back. Go enjoy life. Realize what's important." It sounds silly, but the trip helped me refocus. Which, in my opinion, is as good a reason as any.
Isn't comforting to know that God cares for you individually and specifically? He is great and glorious!
