Well...

It's been a while, hasn't it? Believe it or not, I really do get on my blog a couple times a week. I just read other people's blogs rather than update my own. But as I sit at work on this rainy Thursday afternoon, I have convinced myself it's time to post again.

I've been busy lately. I'm working a lot this summer. I'm continuing to work at the Dean's Office at NKU. It's crazy that in August I will have worked here for two years! I love this little job and the wonderful people that I work with. I'm also continuing my internship that I started at the beginning of the year at the Center for Applied Ecology. Although it's exhausting, I love it and it's a fun little glimpse into what my career might look like once I graduate. Also, I am now officially on the coaching staff at Lloyd Memorial High School! After volunteering with the cheerleading team there for the past 2 years, I got offered the head coaching job last month. I was really excited but decided instead to accept the assistant coaching job. With my last year of college, my first year of marriage, and leading at Lloyd I thought it might be a little much, ya know? But I'm super excited that I will be getting paid to love some of my high school friends and have a consistent opportunity to be with some of them that don't go to Young Life. In addition, I started working concessions at Red's games to help raise some money for summer camp this year. It's actually pretty fun. I get to go to all the Red's games for free, which is enough incentive for me. Annnddddd, I babysit pretty regularly and housesit/dogsit more than I'm at my own home.

I'm working all these jobs, yet I still don't have an excess of money. Funny how that works, huh?

Ministry is good. Jesus is great! Things at Lloyd Memorial are really awesome right now. For the first time in my three years of leading at this school, we were able to run our first consistent club season. It was so much fun to meet, sing songs and do silly skits every week. I gave the club talks this semester and it was such a (sometimes stressful) blessing getting to tell 30-40 students every week the best story they will ever hear.

We're heading to Sharptop Cove in less than a month for summer camp! I've never been to Sharptop before so I'm kind of nervous, haha. We're taking 23 students, which is our biggest trip in the past like, 8 years or something. 17 girls have signed up... SEVENTEEN. I have no idea how I'm going to be able to have 17 one-on-ones and be able to keep them all straight. And we're hoping to get a few more on the trip! Please be praying for strength to wake up early, stay up late and to love unconditionally!

In case you'd like to pray, the girls names are: Caitlin, Kameelah, Joy, Olivia, Miranda, Nia, Naomi, Destiny, Rae'La, Kylie, Andrea, Hannah, Calen, Nikita, Melody, Jenna and Amber.

And finally, engaged life is going well! Really well, actually. I loved being engaged. Planning a wedding is, to me, so fun. I haven't gotten stressed out (yet) and I've been told I'm a pretty laid back bride. We've got most of the big things hammered out so far, like our church, our reception venue, the menu, the cake, my dress, the bridesmaid's dresses, the ceremony musician, the dj and some broad decorative ideas & color schemes. I'm having a freakin' ball with it. And believe it or not, Pinterest isn't as helpful as I always assumed it would be.

And of course, preparing to enter the covenant of marriage with Dan is great. It is so fun truly prepping to become one and do life together. We went through a four week intensive premartial counseling class at Crossroads, our church. It was longgg (eight hour days) but it was so good. I think it really set us up well to build our marriage on the foundation of Jesus. And it was great to become friends with some other lovely young couples that are going through the same experiences of engagement as we are. Seriously everyone, if you ever decide to get married, do the Building Blocks for Marriage class at Crossroads. It's the best! Okay, I'm done shamelessly promoting my awesome church now.

Cody Landrum, our awesome friend, took our engagement pictures!

I was actually pretty impressed that we could do this...

If you know us, this picture describes us pretty well.

Less than six months til the day! I'm so excited! God is doing some really cool and really crazy things in Dan & I's lives (another blog about that later, maybe). It's scary to be following Him into the unknown, but I can't wait to see what God has in store.
